Matthew R. Cox
Matthew Cox is the founder and President of Capitol Partners. Matt has more than 20 years of experience as a lobbyist, attorney, political operative and public relations consultant. His government experience includes service with the Ohio Auditor of State as well as the position of Senior Deputy Attorney General in the office of Ohio Attorney General Jim Petro.
Matt has managed multiple campaigns at the county and state levels and has performed nearly every campaign function, including grassroots development, media, fundraising, and staff and volunteer management. His lobbying practice includes representation of business organizations and associations, private companies, charter school organizations and nonprofit entities.
Matt is a graduate of John Carroll University and Cleveland Marshall College of Law. He is active in the community, currently serving on the boards of United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Cleveland and Cleveland After School All Stars. Matt has also served on the boards of the YMCA of Greater Cleveland, School Choice Ohio, John Carroll University Board of Regents and the Ohio Lottery Commission. Matt lives in Avon with his wife Diane and their three children Benjamin, Emily and Lauren.
Mitch is a political consultant and lobbyist with over 18 years experience in Ohio politics and government, providing grassroots, government relations, communications and lobbying services.
As a grassroots political consultant, he has worked with numerous national companies and organizations, helping develop effective political coalitions, media plans, and statewide ballot initiative campaigns. Mitch has played a leadership role in several statewide ballot initiatives. He has also directed field operations for Freedom Vote, Ohio’s most prolific 501c4 social welfare organization, which has effectively registered and turned out thousands of voters statewide.
As a state and local government lobbyist, Mitch has successfully represented dozens of clients including banks, engineering firms, construction companies, technology firms, nonprofit organizations, and law firms.
Mitch served in a number of political and state government positions, including Deputy Chief of Staff for the Ohio Attorney General, Communications Director for the Ohio Auditor of State, and Project Director for the Ohio Republican Party. In 2002, Mitch managed a successful campaign for Ohio Attorney General.
Mitch is a graduate of Ashland University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Public Communications. He lives in New Albany, Ohio with his wife Julie and their three children.
Trevor has over a decade of experience in grassroots advocacy, political and media consulting and government procurement.
In 2014, Trevor served as campaign manager for Ohio Supreme Court Justice Judi French, whose race was widely regarded as Ohio’s most competitive. He guided Justice French’s grassroots, fundraising and media efforts, which resulted in a 12 point victory on Election Day. Trevor also served as a media consultant on eight other political and issue related races in 2014.
In addition to his political consulting work, Trevor has assisted numerous national and statewide organizations developing grassroots plans, media strategies and coalitions. These include statewide initiatives regarding small business, energy, EPA and tax issues.
Trevor’s previous experience includes managing statewide outreach for the historic Issue 3 campaign in Ohio, which legalized casino gambling after several failed attempts. He also served three years at the Ohio Republican Party where he managed fundraising programs and worked as a regional political director.
Trevor began his career as a legislative aide to Congressman Pat Tiberi (OH) in Washington D.C. During his four years with Congressman Tiberi, he specialized in tax, banking and commerce issues.
A 2002 graduate from Ohio University, Trevor resides in Grandview Heights, Ohio and is an active volunteer with the Central Ohio Alzheimer’s Association. He was recently appointed by Governor Kasich to serve on the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainer Board.
